Enjoy an Exciting Day at Birmingham NEC
Every year, the Birmingham NEC welcomes more than 2.4 million visitors to its halls and conference suites. Host to globally recognised events like Crufts, as well as the popular annual Spring Fair International and the Good Food Show, it is also a popular venue for concerts, shows and conferences.
Home to more than 500 events every year, the NEC is the UK’s largest exhibition venue as well as one of the most popular event destinations in Europe.

Getting There
The NEC is conveniently located right in the middle of the UK’s motorway network, however, if you’re taking public transport, getting there is easy thanks to reliable buses and trains.
By train: The NEC is less than a 5-minute walk away from Birmingham International Railway Station. There are approximately 15 trains an hour to the station. However, if you’re travelling from outside the city you may have to change trains at Birmingham New Street.
By bus: There are more than 100 bus routes that will take you to the NEC, including the 87, 82, X1 and X21 caught from various spots across the city.
By car: If you’re planning on driving to the Birmingham NEC, there are more than 16,000 parking spaces available across the NEC’s 23 carparks. It’s recommended you book a parking space in advance, which will also save you money on the parking fees.
Things to do
It’s not only about the event. Birmingham NEC is a destination where you can make a day of it. Relax at the spa and enjoy a few hours of pampering before you head over to watch a concert, or pick up some incredible bargains from brands like Nike, Lindt and Levi’s at the nearby outlet mall. What better way to end a day at a conference than with an evening in a dark room watching the latest releases at Cineworld?

Food and drink
Whatever you’re hungry for, the Birmingham NEC probably serves it at one of the many restaurants or bars nearby. If you’re craving something quick and simple, you can get something from Subway, or the Bagel Factory, or pick up a drink from Starbucks. At the nearby Resorts World, you can enjoy multiple cuisines at the many restaurants on site, including Japanese, South American and Vietnamese.
Tips for a great day at Birmingham NEC
Book your parking: If you’ve decided to drive, make sure you book your parking. There are plenty of spaces, including charging spots for your EV, but by booking in advance (you can book up to three months in advance) you’ll save yourself money, and the added assurance that you have somewhere to leave your vehicle.
Plan your day: With so much to do at the NEC, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Book an appointment at the spa, make a reservation at the restaurant you want to eat at, and make sure you leave plenty of time to get to your seats at the concert, or make that conference appointment.
Bring essentials: Don’t forget to your tickets and your wallet/purse! With so many shops, eateries and entertainment options on site you won’t need anything else!

Make a weekend of it
If you’re headed to the NEC, whether it’s for a day watching the dogs strutting their stuff at Crufts, or to experience the musical skill of your favourite band, reducing your travel could make it even better. Book a stay at our nearby Birmingham City apartments and make your event visit a relaxing getaway with friends or loved ones.
