A Guide to Twickenham Stadium: Your Ultimate Day Out
Welcome to Allianz Stadium, better known by sports fans the world over as Twickenham. Renamed in September 2024, the stadium is the largest dedicated rugby union venue in the world. It’s the home of England Rugby and can seat up to 82,000.
There’s something for everyone at the stadium, from electric excitement on match days, to a newly fitted World Rugby Museum and a wonderfully stocked Rugby Store, which stocks the largest collection of England Rugby branded fashion, gifts and souvenirs to help you remember your incredible day.
Getting There
Planning your day and don’t want to spend time driving around searching for a parking space? The Stadium is located close to a number of train and tube stations as well as several bus stops, making the journey easier.
By tube: You can get to Twickenham via the District Line to Richmond Rail & Tube or the Piccadilly Line to Hounslow East
By train: Several train stations are within a 10–20-minute walk of the stadium, including Twickenham, Whitton, St Margaret’s and Richmond.
By bus: A number of bus routes stop near the stadium including the 281, 481, H20, 268 and 490
By car: If you are planning on driving, parking is available at various sites near to the stadium, but it’s recommended you book in advance to avoid any disappointment.
Twickenham Tours
Massive rugby fan? What better way to get to know more about the sport and its history than a tour behind the scenes at the stadium. You’ll get the chance to visit areas that are usually reserved for the players, including the England Changing Room, and Players Tunnel. The World Rugby Museum contains the most extensive collection of memorabilia in the world, making it a must-see for any fan. You will also get a chance to test your rugby skills and knowledge in the fun interactive zone.
Food and Drink
No day out would be complete without a bit of indulgence. There are plenty of places to eat and drink once you arrive at the stadium, so whether you fancy a hot dog and a cup of coffee, or want something a little more extravagant, they’ve got you covered.
It’s worth noting that the whole stadium is cashless, so you can only pay with a card.
If you’re looking for somewhere after the match, there are some great bars and restaurants in the area around the stadium, including the aptly-named The Scrummery, grill Twenty Two South Chophouse, a number of Indian restaurants such as Namaste Village Twickenham, and sushi bar Umi.

Arrive Early: There’s nothing worse than having to rush and worrying about finding your seat, take the opportunity to soak up the pre-match atmosphere.
